The lowering button is on all cars equipped with the air suspension. If you don't have that button, it suggests that your car has a steel spring suspension, and doesn't have the optional air suspension. If that's the case, a lowering module would not work for you.
If you're unsure of what options your car has, you can type the car's VIN number into this decoder below, and it will list the options.

Ohhhhh my god, i got my car Friday, and the promised me to find one with air suspension, and i havent seen the car before i got it. Today, i was thinking, how can i see/try the airsuspension, and i could not find any bottums... This is crazy, and i have ordered 21" wheels to next week, not good at all....

I believed you do have air suspension because on the left side second botton up is to lower the suspension. Compare to mine the only button you are missing is the Sports Plus button.

No, badly its not a picture form my car :-(

My car has NOT the AS (and bottum), i have spoken with the dealer for one hour ago.

He dident know that the AS was a TOP priority from my side, hmm, we have spoken about this for 100 times, grrrrr.....

In Denmark, a 4 year used Turbo cost about 200.000 dollar, so we have a system, where a cardealer can find a car in germany, and then we can make a leasing deal for the car, to much lower cost, then we can buy one. The problem can be, that the dealer buy a car for you, and you not see it, before it is yours. And in the last email, i forgot to write the AS as 1 pryority, but i did that in 10 other email :-(

Sorry for my poor English :)

Now he says, "easy now, we just have to find a as for you"....., but is this possible, to install this, original, now...?

PS. Pictures from my own car, NO AS...

This is not the best day in my life....

Hi Brian,

Don't worry about your English - we all understand the issue!

It must be frustrating that you thought you'd have AS and it is not fitted. However, you do have PASM and Sport Plus - to my mind both those are more attractive/important. So if the car is still good value without AS then I would not worry too much, or I would ask the dealer for some form of compensation.

I used to live in Viborg, Denmark (OK it's Jutland but we still loved it!)

Thank you Guy :)

Yes, the car has everything what i wanted, hmm, allmost..

I have had Touareg, Cayenne and X5, all with AS, my last car, SQ5 did not have it, thats why my Macan should have it, because i think its fantastic.

Next week i got my new 21" Winther rims, but without AS, i think the car is to hard and "bumpy" (i am too old for this 47) and i think it looks a little stupid, with so big wheels, if i cant get the car lower. And the Techart module i also ordered, is useless, ivvv.

I have to talk whit the cardealer tommorow, maybe he knows if its possible to install a original AS to the car....

Viborg is a nice place, you work here..?

Brian,

I lived and worked in Viborg (Hald Ege) 2011-2014 - we have lots of friends there and would love to move back one day (if we could afford the 170% car purchase tax ;) ).

Your Danish roads are so good that I doubt that you really need AS, but if you are used to it from previous cars then I suspect that you will want it! I don't think that it is possible to retrofit AS to a Macan, so I think that you will be disappointed.

I have 20" all-season tyres on my Macan and definitely do not need AS - even with the potholes and poor roads that we have here in Romania!

Yeah, the tax can be a little annoying, not that easy to find money to a big a nice car :)

I have 19" now, its okay comfort, but with the new 21", i think its going to be pretty much bumpy.
And the looks of the car, big wheels, and big gab, aaaaaa, dont think i like it...

And if i make the car lower with H&R or Aibach, i think the car will be very NOT comfortable (even that we have nice roads)...., so that is not a solution.

I will post some pictures when i get the new wheels next week, then u all can see if it works...

Adding air suspension to your car is not economically possible. You would have to trade the car for another one that has air suspension.

If you decide to keep the car you have, your only option for lowering the ride height is installing shorter springs. But rather than using H&R or Eibach aftermarket springs, ask if your car dealer will install Porsche springs from the Macan GTS. It should be a straight swap, since your car already has PASM. The drop in ride height is not as much as the aftermarket springs (only 15mm I believe), but the feel of the GTS springs should be much better than the aftermarket springs. You can look at, and perhaps test drive a steel suspension Macan GTS, and see if that suspension feels good to you. If you decide to try this, let us know how it works out.
Best of luck to you.

Very good suggestion, i think u are right on this. I will see if this is posible tommorow, Porsche May know, if the GTS and Turbo springs fits the same. 15 mm, hmm, not what i wanted, but better than nothing, and the comfort is important for me.
Thanks for helping so far, i post ASAP i know a little more :)

The GTS springs should fit, but the dealer has probably never done this before, so they may have to do some research. The Turbo springs are the same as the S......unless you were thinking about the Turbo Performance Package.

Is the dealer you are working with a Porsche Dealership? That would make it easier if they are, as they should be more knowledgeable.

To order the correct GTS springs, they will have to know the weight class of your car. They can determine the weight class by looking at the color code marks on your car's current springs.

Todays update.

Install a original AS is not an option, Porsche DK cannot do this. Now they will try to investigate if the GTS springs fits my Turbo, if so, i do that.

I got price for not original AS from G.A.S, 3500 euro, but no TUV approving, wich is a problem in Denmark, so this is no option at all.

Now i wait for answer from Porsche DK, i post u ASAP :)
