So I finally pickued up my Macan diesel from Germany, thanks to the suggestions on the TDI club forum, I shipped my brand new 2017 macan to Germany to an automotive OEM engineer, who does tuning on the side at home. It took about 4 months, but its done.
I flew out there last week, and drove it from Stuttgart to Greece, 2,45km
It might be the the most powerful Macan in the world (for now, things change quickly, haha). This is since , based on all our communications with transmission builders, nobody upgraded the DL501 tranmission to exceed its 600/650 nm torque limit stock.
It has custom software, of course, for ECU and TCM, and a littany of upgrades from a custom made hybrid turbo, to larger fuel injectors, intercooler, fuel pump, maf, intake box, downpipe, exhaust, and water methanol injection. And of course, a beefed up PDK transmission to handle 700 lb of torque.
Its pushing just under 480 HP at 4100 RPM, and 700 ft lb torque.
Its a little loud, I will put a resonator in, to try and eliminate the highway drone at cruising speed.
It easily spins all 4 wheels from a red light.
On the autobahn, I walked away from a Cayenne Turbo, a boxster S, and a bunch of BMWs, and others. Before the upgrade I could barely keep up with basic family sedans, it was dismal, stock macan diesel is a slow mess.
I think a Macan turbo will be my next project, 600 HP should be possible based on what the engineer says.
Has anyone done a serious Macan upgrade here? I'd be curious to discuss, as you know its a work in progress pushing the limits like this.
thanks
