Anyone see a Macan Workshop Manual yet ?

Will want to dive in on a few things after I get her and wondering if anyone has access to the workshop manual. I had one for my Cayman S and it was invaluable for some of the mods I made to it.

No one ? Really ?
When I first joined here I noticed unlike all the other auto forums I have been on (starting with the Saab network in 1988), there was more emphasis on options than modding. Most people on most forums list their cars in their sig, but here they list every option. It is a different crowd. Fewer wrenchers and more people extolling (or dumping) on the virtues of AS, SD packages, Pano roofs and the like.

All this was very helpful in configuring my Macan. But I want to go further. I have modded every car I ever owned, including my current Cayman S. I got a bootleg workshop manual for it on Planet-9 within 3 months of the 981s being released. I don't think I have even seen a "how to remove door panel" DIY yet. First step in redesigning a good sound system. I have the exhaust flap mod and a couple of other little things, like the fiendishly clever rubber nubbin on the sport plus button.

So who here is planning on modding their car themselves ? What are you planning on doing ?

For me, this summer,
(1) Upgrade CD-R+ to awesomeness.
(2) Implement some form of electronic AS control to allow low to go lower.
(3) Some form of microwave detector that other microwave detectors won't detect.

You are correct that there does not seem to be much interest in actually modifying these cars on this forum. I have tried a couple of tech type threads that died quickly, but to answer your question, no I have not seen a manual yet and I honestly do not expect one. I can not get a complete one for the 911 but can get little parts of it at a cost which is a bit excessive in cost, the mech I talk to at the dealership said they have a dealer license which gets them theirs. I am thinking you will see the Macan done the same. If you stumble across one, post were as I also would like to get my hands on one.
Let us know how the work goes, I am always interested in some good tech stuff..

Hi Macanuck,
I am onboard - I pan to do the 10k oil change shortly, and will do brakes and future straightforward service work going forward, more for fun than the money saved. German engineering is so good to work with. I'll leave the dealer for the more complex electronic and complex stuff over my head.
I am researching the H&R or Eibach spring lowering right now. I have the pasm so it looks compatible to be able to do this. I think 1-1/2" lower will be a great look for the car and got the idea courtesy of the K-A and others spirited Air suspension topic passion. I missed getting the full Monty AR, but this should be a good compromise. I'll have a go at fitting these springs myself, but hope to get some instructions to follow preferably. Not sure how the pasm will work, or if it needs adjustment with the lowered springs.
After that I will add the aftermarket SS skid plates front and back. Self fitting should be straightforward.
Then closer to the waranty end I'll look the get the extra HP boost via aftermarket chip. Not too much on the market yet, but should be more on the way..
I missed the leather upgrade too - I'm sure there are local businesses that could add, or perhaps an aftermarket one day. I'd be interested in that.
Other that that the car is pretty much perfect.
Oh, I've ordered some $8 P-logo valve stem caps. Do they count?

I would love to have one. Whether or not I actually use it is unknown but I love having all the information to read and think about.

I had seen this, but I was able to buy a pretty comprehensive one for my Cayman in early 2014 for $100. It was just a pdf, but over a 1000 pages of good stuff. Was hoping to find the same for the Macan.

I found the information was useful and downloaded it after joining renntech for $25.

Downloads - RennTech.org Forums

Service Information
2015 Technik Introduction
Macan S, Macan Turbo, Macan S Diesel

It is not a full shop manual though. The document is 230 pages with a lot of breakout diagrams, 3D component views of manifolds, line routings, etc.

I won't post it since I am not sure of copyrights, etc. Sorry you have to try it without seeing it since it may not be what you want but it helped me on understanding the car much more technically.

hi,
there is the air dash vent removal or pcm removal scheme ?

Yeh it does seem to be a different culture with Porsche owners.
Less moding and even coding, unlike BMW and other cars.
I'm trying to find a DIY on how to remove the PCM as I need to gain access to the rear to connect the Analog clock which I got from another member.
Hope it is straight forward, I have seen the YouTube video for the Cayanne but as my Macan is still yet to arrive I'm not sure if it is as easy.

Anyone else's help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rod

We figure since it's perfect from the factory, no need to tweek it. Now, if it came with flaws, we would....like a Bimmer...;)

I already made my first mod. Removed the central panel with the clock wart to install a GPS tracker. Handily, the clock has permanent +12V and ground. Would still like a workshop manual. I like to read them just to understand how my car works. I have an original 6 volume binder set for my 911s and they are fun to thumb through. Of course even the manuals are worth so much that you try to be careful reading them !

Hello,
I am a new member here in the forum as of today.
I am from Germany and have been screwing 911 for over 30 years.
Now I want to overhaul for the first time a Macan Turbo (V6 3.6 turbo 400hp) engine, but I lack the workshop manual to this engine to be able to reassemble it correctly.
Can anyone help and offer me a workshop manual (PDF) for the V6 turbo engine?
