I believe the OP was referring to the parking/surround sensors in general. Same thing applies though. If they are being too sensitive in a drive through, valet line, etc., just use the overhead button to silence them.
The surround-view/parking sensors are triggered by late model Ford Corporation cars. The next time your sensors go off in traffic or when stopping at a stop light, look around you....one of those cars is a late model ford product.
The other day I was behind a new (refreshed) Escape and the front sensors went crazy. The Escape didn't seem to have parking sensors which I thought we decided was the issue. Possibly the kick under the bumper to open the back thing is the culprit?
Sadly no. I understand them beeping like crazy when I pull tightly into my garage but it makes me insane that the front sensors beep as I am backing out! Simply poor programming.
Not poor programming at all. Just because one is reversing does not mean that one is not potentially in danger of bumping the front of the car, especially if any turning is involved while reversing.
Experienced the Ford interference ourselves last weekend. Sensors went off while we were stopped at a red light & there was an F-150 immediately to our right front. It had the same sensor-doohickies that our F-150 has. It's funny, but I guess we've not had our F-150 running next to the Macan, so we've not noticed that at home before.
Been blessed by having Macan's without this feature, but now with a GTS on order, is there a way to permanently disable the audio warning sounds but keep the visual?
I for one think sensors are absolute crap.. too slow to trigger, not real time (there’s a significant delay of couple seconds where you can hit something without triggering anything, etc
There are so many cheap cars out there with so much better parking sensors...
Mainly having in mind it’s such a big car..
