Default Any free gifts from Porsche?

Over on Planet9 one fellow received all these gifts from Porsche upon delivery of his 718.

Here is the post: I received a metal model machined into my car's spec, a book on all past and current porsche models and history, card for a lifetime of free coffee and pastries, a porsche design bag and a placard with my vin, spec, name, date of delivery and the same porsche crest as on the car.

This guy got free pastries and coffee for life! Anybody here get anything like this from Porsche? I got a key fob in '14, but would rather have had the pastries!

I assume you mean any gifts from the dealer, but I didn't get jack squat! With the last handful of vehicles I've purchased (Lexus/Toyota), I've at least received something, a keychain set, pens, etc. I didn't even get the Porsche survey for my buying experience.

Thumbs up Porsche Experience Center Atlanta Delivery

When I placed my order at the dealership I got:
  • Free OEM rubber floor mats
  • Free coffee/bottled water LOL

Prior to delivery a UPS package arrived containing:
  • A leather portfolio with paperwork I needed to bring with me to Atlanta
  • Information about hotels and restaurants in Atlanta along with some recommended scenic/fun driving routes
  • Duplicate copy of the window sticker listing all the options
  • Porsche lanyard and ID badge (with my name, year and model, and delivery date)
  • Porsche pen and stationery
  • Macan quick start guide, Macan quick reference guide, a couple of brochures (Tequipment, Porsche Sports Driving School, etc.)

During delivery at PEC Atlanta we got:
  • A guided tour of the Porsche museum and Porsche Classic Workshop where they restore old Porsches
  • 1.5 hours track time with a Porsche instructor
  • Lunch for two at Restaurant 356 (good food and our table had a great view of the entire track)
  • Personalized lunch menus which we took home as souvenirs LOL
  • A pair of his and hers (black and red) leather key chains with the Porsche crest
  • Porsche Experience Center Atlanta Delivery license plate frame in black

After lunch they gave us a parting "swag bag" that contained:
  • A PEC Atlanta branded USB thumb drive with pictures of the unveiling as well as glamour shots of my Macan GTS around the PEC building
  • A small coffee table book titled "Porsche in America" about the history of Porsche in the US and featuring some of the cars that we saw in the museum
  • A Porsche Classic Workshop notebook
  • A Porsche embossed, leather luggage tag
  • More brochures and a couple of issues of Christophorus

A month and a half after I got the car, a UPS package arrived that included:
  • A Macan brochure
  • A book titled "The Porsche Experience"
  • A Macan pen
  • A silver colored plastic card (same size as a credit card) that says Macan and has my name and VIN

If you want Porsche swag (and you have the time), check the PEC Delivery no-cost option on your build sheet!

When I picked up the car and closed the deal I told my dealer: "Ok, now what do I get as a gift?". He looked at me and said "how about a pair if key fob covers matching the external cover of your car?". And I got those free. Later I got in the mail that nice packaged with the book, pen, etc.

For me, it's the torque over weight ratio at mid RPM.

From the dealer (Sonnen in Marin) I got the attitude that I was buying the cheap Porsche.

From Porsche I received the book, pen, card. Very nice.

I received this metal paper weight with the Porsche crest when I signed my order.
Still waiting to pick up the Macan, so I'm as curious as you are if there will be any extra gifts...

My three previous BMW's got me a bottle of champagne and some other goodies (BMW USB stick etc...)

You don't get "free" pastries and coffee every time you go to the dealer?

You do know that none of this is really free? You paid for this marketing when you bought your car. Its all baked into the price of the car. And what should be really irritating, is that we ALL paid for this marketing so all that free stuff that the other guy got and we all didn't, you paid for that.

Nothing is free. Except coffee and donuts which are free as along as you get the car serviced there. You do get that, don't you or do they stuff the Macans owners in the Dealers Dungeon lounge?
